The originals of these portraits are done with water based pastels and wash. I am offering them as limited edition prints because I think the prints may be more long lasting than the originals, but I am open to offers for the originals, which will certainly last for many years if they are not exposed to direct sunlight.
The prints are on fine art paper, using pigment inks, which are very long lasting.
I have used strong bright colours in these paintings with the intention of emulating the brightly coloured lights of the theatre. I wanted to express the theatrical nature of John B Keane's work.
