Cyprus / Stone piles and Cirrocumulus sky 1461
Stone piles in the vicinity of the Tombs of the Kings, with a beautiful Cirrocumulus sky. The place is covered in stone piles; it seems an awful lot of people just cannot resist building them, wherever there are a few stones.
The tombs of the Kings date back from around the 3rd century BC. Despite its name it's unlikely that any Kings were buried here, but it was certainly a burial place for the rich and powerful Ptolemaic aristocrats of the time.
